Davey Coach Sales And Environmental Sustainability

As our operations grow, new buses sales increase, and as our recently launched pre-owned bus sales division develops, Davey Coach Sales continues to look for better ways to manage our BUSiness. From streamlining communications to expanding our campus to include multiple locations, we continue to thrive because we have a team focused on improving.

One of the ways we have improved is by staying conscious of our local and global environmental impact. Recently, one of our team members expressed a desire to reduce the number of plastic water bottles that were being used. After considering his request, we bought several dozen insulated, reusable, 32-ounce cups for our team.

To further reduce our footprint, we are working toward lowering our paper use. We have a shredding service that protects sensitive documents, while also recycling them so they don’t end up in a landfill.

In addition to the efforts of the company, individual team members are encouraged to participate in community enrichment programs. Some of our employees are outdoor enthusiasts and contribute to conservation efforts through fishing and hunting licensing and permits.

This says nothing about the mere fact that Davey Coach supports the transportation and transit industry by offering ways to travel in groups, thus improving air quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and limiting the impact of higher density land development.

Earth Day began in 1970 as a day to focus on educating students about the environment. Following the efforts of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day “organized itself”. According to Nelson, “We had neither the time nor the resources to organize 20 million demonstrators, and the thousands of schools and local communities that participated. That was the remarkable thing about Earth Day. It organized itself.” It appears, almost half a century later, it continues to grow organically.
